Devour the forbidden fruit… Enter the world of queer Asian cabaret and experience the pleasures of The Bitten Peach, a Pan-Asian collective featuring a stellar lineup of the UK’s legendary Queens, Kings and Creatures of The East.
The Bitten Peach takes its name from an ancient tale from China’s Zhou Dynasty and means “homosexual”. One would refer to a homosexual as “enjoying the pleasures of the bitten peach.”
Founded at the start 2019, The Bitten Peach has been redefining Asian excellence on the drag and cabaret scene. Their first launch season saw multiple sell-out shows across London at The Royal Vauxhall Tavern, The Glory, The Apple Tree, Looking Glass Cocktail Club & more. They were also featured at the Pride in London cabaret stage, UK Black Pride, The National Theatre’s River Stage, The Pleasance Theatre and The Underbelly Festival, Southbank.
The Bitten Peach was nominated Best Collective for the QX Cabaret Awards in 2019 and is The UK’s only Pan-Asian cabaret collective made up of performers working in a variety of nightlife entertainment genres including drag, burlesque, dance, comedy, music and circus.
