A rare London visit for this Paris-based cult singer. Growing up in both Yaoundé (Cameroun) and Paris, singer-songwriter Sandra Nkaké was used to moving between two cultures and two climates. Her studies at the Sorbonne in Paris – first to become a journalist and then an English teacher – did not prevent her from living a double life as a singer and an actress in pieces that blended theatre and music.
She started her solo career in 2008 creating since a universe of her own, constantly reinventing herself. Composer and producer of her 3 solo albums who allowed her to tour the world, Sandra Nkaké was nominated for French Jazz award in 2012 as “Rising Talent”. Recently she won rave reviews for London appearances in Georgia Mancio’s ReVoice festival at the Pizza Express Live and in the London Jazz Festival show Strayhorn The Songwriter at the Cadogan Hall. Her most recent album, Tangerine Moon Wishes, was released in 2017.
