The best in vocal jazz every Wednesday
This event has now finished.
Join us every Wednesday for a night that will take you back to the swinging spirit of bohemian Soho in an intimate and seriously stylish setting.
Soho Sounds: Jazz will showcase the very best vocal jazz on the scene, with a different prestigious guest singer joining our wonderful house band every week. Featuring Alex Webb on piano, Pete Hill on drums and Andy Champion on double bass, confirmed vocalists include China Moses, Jo Harrop, Vimala Rowe and Anna Ross.
Soho Sounds: Jazz opens with singer and songwriter David McAlmont, best-known for his collaborations and chart hits with ex-Suede guitarist Bernard Butler. He has long had an interest in jazz, performing at a John Coltrane tribute concert at the Barbican and in 2004 releasing Set One: You Go To My Head, a selection of Cassandra Wilson and Betty Carter-inspired standards. In 2016 he recorded the Alex Webb composition Me And My Crazy Ideas for the album Call Me Lucky by Alex Webb and the Copasetics and is currently preparing a new album with Webb for release in autumn 2019.
